About Brandon Wang
Hi! I'm Brandon. I’m an entrepreneur, engineering leader, and optimist.
In 2020, I cofounded and was CTO of Dreambound, which helps millions of people change careers every year with our search engine for career education. I recently left the company in 2024 to explore what's next.
Before Dreambound, I studied computer science & data science at Harvard University before dropping out to start Conduit, an AI-driven chief of staff. We automated analysis of emails, calendars, and contacts to build an at-scale relationship graph and analytics tool (but this was before ChatGPT, so this was much harder and not as good). Conduit was acquired in 2019.
Previously, I directed product as hire #1 at StratoDem Analytics, a real-estate data science services company, where I scaled the team and productized our vision. StratoDem was acquired by Altus Group in 2021.
My earliest professional work was in education reform and technology. I was the youngest employee in Teach For America history where I worked to improve teacher outcomes in Houston. We spun out a nonprofit, the Project for Better Journalism, which provided K12 extracurricular programs at hundreds of schools from 2012 thru 2020.
I am a high-throughput learner who often gets lost in all his Wikipedia tabs. I wrote my first line of PHP in second grade (some fun stories). I credit so much early curiosity to open-source software and the accessibility of the Internet, where I could contribute and learn without regard for age.
I’m a 2020 Thiel Fellow, a 2021 Forbes 30 Under 30 recipient, and a 2018 Interact Fellow. I coauthored a 2015 book on breaking down age barriers. My only degree is my high school diploma from Phillips Exeter Academy.
I was born in Houston, Texas, and now live in San Francisco, California.
